EggMoney cashback

Have applied and been accepted for EggMoney. I understand the Golden Rule of no cashback. Maybe naive but does this include cashback with your shopping? Can't see anything in threads but newbie so not conversant yet.

Never heard about any 'Rule of no cashback'. Are you sure that you understand this? AFAIK 'the Golden Rule' is to pay balance always in full and on time in order not to pay any interest.

On positive balances on Egg Money you will get 4% interest paid monthly. On all spending you will get back 1% cash back paid in March each year. looking forward to mine soon. You also get better rates of cash back with some stores (e.g. 5% from Curries) when offered by Egg Money.

I've just been looking at egg money and according to the egg website - you will not have the option to get cashback with your shopping (I'm assuming you mean getting the shop to give you cash from the till??)

Also looks like there is no charge for cash withdrawls as long as the card has a credit balance on it.. I'm quite tempted to apply!

  • I think the OP means Cashack at the till, i.e shop comes to £50 pay with CC or Debit card and recieve £10 cashback so total bill = £60

I would advise no to getting cashback at the till on a CC but check your T's & C's

I don't think that it is possible to get this cashback if you pay by a credit card, even if it is Egg Money credit card.
Probably, the OP means cash withdrawals? With Egg Money it is OK to make them while your card is in credit (has positive balance).

To the best of my (limited) knowledge you can only get cash back via debit cards.

  • Apologise for not explaining well. I refer to to Martin's Major Warning that cashback is only available on spending and not cash withdrawls (I assumed from ATM's) and therefore the enquiry about cash with shopping. Thanks.
