TD Waterhouse UK

Hi everyone,
Have any of you used TD Waterhouse UK as a trading broker? If you have how do you rate the service and costs. I'm looking for a broker who can buy shares in US and Canada - Hoodless and Hargreaves Lansdown don't cover these that well with telephone only trades for the US etc.
TD sight seems reasonable and covers the above gaps. Any feedback gladly received.

I had an ISA with them for a few months, and moved it. What exactly do you mean when you say "trading broker"? May sound like a daft question but it is very relevant in determining which broker you are better using.Hope for the best.....Plan for the worst!

I'm referring to the organisation who will buy/sell my shares on my instruction. I.e. I use the Halifax sharedealer just now but it don't give me the same access to the international markets (resulting in me missing a 130% hike in a stock over 2 days... I'm raging!)
So i want to move to a similar service but more international scope.
I appreciate you asking and welcome your feedback.Joined the track for my first lap of MFiT-T2 # 41

LOL sorry dude, it was the "trading" part of you question I was querying, I know what a broker is, the less you buy and sell the less efficient a broker you require. UK brokers still think it's the 1990's. If you are a light trader, smallish account, TD Waterhouse may be suitable, another to consider might be E*Trade. If you are trying to trade a lot, have a decent sized account then you might want to consider Interactive Brokers.samnorris2 wrote: »tradetime

tradetime... thanks. I'm smiling here as well. You're usename does suggest you are in the field!
Just smalltime trading at the moment until I build up my portfolio. The 10 trades a quarter deal seems pretty good. Most others are ~30 before the price drops off.
I've looked at eTrade also but think the TD account may be more taylored to may needs.
While I have your attention, can you recommend any stock screen software, sites etc?

In that case, I can't really think of any other suitable brokers for what you have described, IB is probably a little overkill at the moment, but keep a note of them for future reference in case you increase your activities.Just smalltime trading at the moment until I build up my portfolio. If we are still talking North American market then Marketwatch have a stock screener, also Google Screener has one. Can't say how good they are as I don't use themHope for the best.....Plan for the worst!

I have had an account for about 4 months and really like them, they have been helpful and they cover a lot of markets, the servers have been a bit slow of late but they are apparently addressing this...0
