Hi aliEnRIK,
OK. That's good news. When I switch my PC later tonight, are you saying that when I select 'Custom' again on my Comodo firewall then my internet connection should be back to normal? (it's been selected for 'Allow All' temporarily whilst connected to MSE here only).
When my PC started playing up initially, I noticed I got pop-ups from Comodo. These were from svchost.exe, I think. I assume it's OK to 'allow' these now as I'm aware that there may be a several of these sessions active at any one time. Just a thought.
I'll update you later on.
Thanks again.0 -
If you still have problems with comodo id suggest removing ALL entries and starting afresh (Or uninstall and try PC tools firewall)
I have quite a few "svchost" entries myself so theyre almost certainly going to be fne

Good evening aliEnRIK,
Guess what?....I have an internet connection now with my Comodo at Custom setting, as before! Brilliant.
You are a genius and I can't thank you enough.
Can I ask a couple of questions, if you don't mind.....
1) How did I get the trojan(s) on my PC now and not before?
2) I am using the free versions of Comodo, Avast! and Ad-Aware which I use manually, rather than constant monitoring from a purchsed verion. Is that a problem?
3) How do I avoid trojans, etc, getting into my PC in future?
4) Any other advice?
Thank you for your guidance to get this problem resolved.

1 - not entirely sure but something was physically installed at some point
2 Avast and Comodo are fine (But you should never switch off the firewall). AdAware is generally a bit cr*p though.
3 ~ use FIREFOX with the NOSCRIPT plugin to prevent infections whilst browsing. Dont install anything your not sure of. Dont open email attachements without having scanned them first. Dont click MSN links or suchlike
4 ~ id suggest alternating weekly scans with Malwarebytes, Superantispyware and Spybot (And use Spybots 'IMMUNISE feature). Id recommend uninstalling AdAware as it tends to find a lot of 'false positives' these days:idea:0 -
Hi aliEnRIK,
Thanks for answering my queries.
Once again, I really appreciate your help with my PC problem.
Best Regards,
