Hi guys,
Hoping I can get some advice from you all...
Had my CCCS counselling session today and we have agreed that DRO is the best way to go.
They asked me to obtain a copy of my credit reports, which I have done online and come across a worrying thing; in the fraud section there is a 'Previous' fraud logged under somebody elses name at my old address (8 years ago lived there), however the log was only entered on 28/12/08 - does this affect me in any way?
One more thing that CCCS couldn't answer, I stupidly took out a pay day loan last month, now I want to pay it next month but CCCS said not to as it could be seen as favouring a creditor... yet if I include it in DRO won't I be done for taking credit then DRO'ing?
Sorry for long post, am only at the start of this long windy journey.
Thanks for all your help in advance

Hi Dave,
If the fraud was logged in somebody else's name and had nothing to do with you then I can't see how it would affect you.
As for the payday loan; you took that out before your consultation with CCCS so you could argue that at the time you had every intention of repaying the loan. It might cause a few raised eyebrows, but unless anybody knows anything to the contrary I can't see it being a major problem.
By the time we were declared bankrupt there wasn't a penny left in any of our accounts; debit and credit accounts. I don't know much about DRO's but the fundamentals seem similar to bankruptcy.

Thanks Richard,
Just seemed strange that it was logged on my Credit File...
Yeah I was thinking that about PD loan, and it was to cover travel and food, so not like I wasted it on rubbish.
The process is a lot more long winded than BR but as I tick all the boxes this seems the best way to go.
Thanks

I was victim of identity fraud, and that is recorded on my credit report, as well as the name of the person living at my old address. It was at the bottom of the report - think its called CIFA? or something like that - They are the people who investigate fraud. If its anywhere else on the report I would phone them and query it, just to put your mind at rest. I had several items deleted that were nothing to do with me.

Any help, opinions, views I may hold those are my own. Respect them as you would expect the same in return. Offered freely, is gleaned from a lifetime of experiences, knowledge gaining. Passed on to benefit others. I may be direct, ask you questions but those are to help you. Up to you if you choose to take it. I won't judge you either way.

Yeah it was the CFAS thing at the bottom of my report.
It doesn't appear anywhere else on my report... although I do have a cash account with Lloyds TSB, so that hopefully worked in my favour to flag up the fraud.
I think I'll leave it as it says it's a Previous case and looks to be closed.
Thanks again.
