elvi within debenhams

hi am total newbie to forums and posted this question earlier on what i think was the wrong forum.
bought a few elvi items from debenhams with store gold card which allows full refund if returned within 28 days.

a couple of items were unsuitable so took them back to branch - elvi department had closed down - overnight apparently - and they wont give a refund, exchange, or credit.

is there anything i can do as i cannot afford to waste £135 on clothes that dont fit!

I think a concession within a store operates their own policy so not sure Debenhams will bear any responsibility.

Have you checked if they have any stores within reasonable distance? For that value it might be worth making a trip to another store, check if its open though as it does look like they are closing down.

  • Irrelevant anyway as you have no right to a replacement or refund simply because you bought the wrong size

hi just to let you know that it was a debenhams receipt for elvi goods paid for with gold card - the problem with debenhams staff seems to be that now there is no elvi department they cannot resell the goods

In the absence of evidence to the contrary, it would appear that the OP made a contract with Debenhams, and not Elvi. Therefore Debenhams are required to honour the returns policy that was agreed to at the time of purchase.

OP, was there a sign at the point of purchase, or does the receipt state anything that would point to Elvi acting as a separate entity?
