Barclaycard - Credit Card Cheque 0% Question

Hi

I've been send a credit card cheque with my latest statement offering my 0% interest until November 09 (with a 3% fee) for balance transfers.

I've checked with Barclaycard and they've advised that I can pay this into my own current account (which I want to use to then clear a loan).

They advised that I wuld still get the same rate, but I'm not entirely convinced by the person I spoke to.

Anyone else done this - I don't want to end up cashing the cheque and ending up with some crazy interest rate from day 1.

It will be 0% till Nov 09 but check to see if interest on cheques are different to purchases when the interest free periods ends. On one of ,my MBNA accounts the interest for credit card cheques is higher then the normal card APR.

Make sure you have a solid plan to put into place before the trial ends about paying back. There is no use leaving it til then i21-14.jpg
