Parking Charge by Central-Ticketing

I received a parking charge notice today whilst parked at a friends property. The notice states that I was parked without a permit. This is correct, however, I was not aware that permits were required and my friend didn't mention it as they didn't think to. There were 2 signs in the car park which I later found, one hidden behind a tree and the other behind a parked car. Both signs were on a low wall and completely invisible from where the car was parked.

The ticket shows the car registration incorrectly, the address where the 'offence' took place only shows name of the row of houses, not the town or postcode and the 'operative ID' field is blank.

I'm a bit worried about simply ignoring it but loathed to enter into protracted enquiries with a private company knowing that they'll simply ignore any appeal? HELP please!

No enquiries, protracted or otherwise, are necessary. Just file all their rubbish letters away in a drawer until they realise you're not going to respond, and they'll go away and threaten someone else. Just get on with your life, and whatever you do, never contact these pondlife.

I have been providing assistance, including Lay Representation at Court hearings (current score: won 57, lost 14), to defendants in parking cases for over 5 years. I have an LLB (Hons) degree, and have a Graduate Diploma in Civil Litigation from CILEx. However, any advice given on these forums by me is NOT formal legal advice, and I accept no liability for its accuracy.

While I agree mostly with what you say, I've enjoyed contacting these 'people', I got two tickets when I was stupid enough to get my car locked in a car park over a weekend DOH. Funny thing is thought they never got back to me :rotfl:

I also enjoyed reporting them to the economic crimes unit of the local police too

The ticket shows the car registration incorrectly,

Forget it, they cannot trace you anyway if the registration is incorrect.

They claim to have 'photographic evidence' (well, it says that on the front of the ticket) which I would assume would show the correct reg....IF they took a pic? Sorry, being a bit of a scaredy cat but feeling a little more empowered to ignore the pond-dwellers now :)
