My daughter is asking when a child moves away from home, how long do you get until you need tell the tax cred people that he is no longer staying with you ??

You need to tell TCO straight away.

I would tell them as soon as poss if I were you, or within 4 weeks. better to have to pay back a couple of weeks money than a couple of months. Remember, we are talking about the tax people here and they won't let you owe them anything for long, you must report changes straightaway, hope this has been a help.

She needs to tell the benefits office and / or tax credits office. She will know what benefits she's getting.

If your daughter has a child that he is receiving child benefit she is more than likely to be getting CTC.
If that child is no longer living with her then the child benefit and CTC go to wherever the child is. It is the child's money to be used to support them.

well, it's not clear cut unfortunately. The said "child" is a few weeks short of 16 and keeps taking off to stay at his girlfriend's . Last time he jumped out of a bedroom window.

she gets child benifits so does that mean she will be getting child tax credit and how will that efect childs savings its not much but we dont kno how much they are allowed
