Boots return policy

Right so here's my problem

I bought a set of hair clippers from Boots in Febuary, but they've decided to not work properly, and instead of cutting hair they chew it. They work if I oil them myself but the product claims to be self oiling for life. What would happen if I was to take the product back to Boots - I would be looking a refund from them. And have my receipt.

Another potential problem, the card I used to buy them I no longer have as the bank took it off me because of my spending. Any idea how that would work then, any advice is much appreciated

The bringing part shouldn't be a major issue, goods not of satisfactory quality/not fit for purpose, so I can't see you having too many problems there. However, if you don't have the card for them to do a refund to, I think you might find you'll have to accept vouchers, as I'm pretty certain they won't give it to you in cash.

Can you even return hair clippers? I thought they woudnt due to hygiene reasons.

I know from someone who works in Boots (in Ireland) that they take electrical items back even without a receipt without a quibble. It's for safety reasons. I'm not sure if that was just the policy for that particular store of if it's throughout the chain. I'm sure it's worth trying at least. Good luck!

Edit: That store issued refunds rather than credit/exchange/replacement

Sorry if I don't reply to posts - I'm having MAJOR trouble keeping up these days!

That's irrelevant if they don't work.

hey, my lil sister works for boots, she said if they are faulty they can refund you, or replace them and they would be sent off for testing, if you do not have the original card used for payment they will give you the refund on a gift card. x
