Help with reclaiming Bank charges

Hi, can anyone help?

I started to reclaim bank charges about 2 years ago but I didn`t follow through with it, I got to the stage of threatening court action.
I am now going to do it again but this time will follow it through, I have worked out how much I can claim after going back 6 years to 31/5/2003, I do have a couple of charges going back to 30/11/2002 which I don`t think I can claim for.
Finaly to the question, where do I start with the new claim, do I have to start all over again with asking for the money back or do I go straight to the financial ombudsman or court?

I hope somone can throw some light on this for me.

Many Thanks

Daz.

    You're starting date is 27th July 2001 until today. You need to put in a claim with the new charges as well.If you have paperwork for their response last time then include it and write something like, "further to your letter dated xxxx"
    I have not worked for NatWest Bank since February 2009

    You can only go back upto 6years.

    I think you have to start from the begining again which sucks but nvm just think of your money at the end of it all lol

    If you need any more help like links to forms etc just let us know (I have some bookmarket just for here :))
    Hi, thanks for your reply. I have had a reply from someone else saying I can go back to July 2001, on the sample letters on money saving expert it says July 2001 but also that you can only go back 6 years, very confusing lol.

    Hi, thanks for your reply. You said I can claim charges from 27th July 2001 this is more than 6 years, on the sample letter on money saving expert it does state the date you said but also that you can only claim 6 years, it`s all very confusing lol

    Last time I looked it did say 27th July 2001. On the FSA waiver in mentions limitation periods.

    "(14)
    the firm must not take into account the period between 27 July 2007 and the date of termination of this direction (the “stay period”) for the purposes of relying on any limitation period (or periods) or time limits within which complainants must:
    (a)
    make relevant charges complaints;
    (b)
    refer relevant charges complaints to the Ombudsman; or
    (c)
    bring claims before the court;
    and the firm must not otherwise limit any redress that may be due to the customer, when complying with DISP or otherwise, because of the stay period;"

    Hi, I think I will put a claim in from 31/10/2002 which is the earliest charge I have and see how it goes.

    Many thanks for your help.
