AXA & Revenue services of Canada BC

Hi there
Just wondered if anyone has had a similar experience.
In June 2007 on my honeymoon I was taken ill on the rocky mountaineer and taken off the train by ambulance. They would not treat me at the hospital until 600 dollars had been removed from my hubby's credit card.
On returning home there was a bit of a delay while we waited for my hospital records from Canada and also to get my doctor to complete a form to say I had no pre-existing conditions etc etc, but AXA did pay me eventually
However 5 months later I get a 300 dollar bill from the ambulance service in Canada, I did speak to them directly but they were unhelpful and rude so sent bill to AXA (at their request).
Thought everything was sorted then on the 20 April 09 (nearly TWO years later) I received a monthly bill from the Revenue Services of Canada BC for ambulance services, I contacted AXA who asked me to send to them, which I have done. My hubby has just called to say I have received another monthly bill from them this morning.
On the 20 April 09 I did write to the revenue Services of Canada with my phone number/fax/email so that someone could contact me, as impossible for me to get hold of them on the phone.
I will again forward this latest bill onto AXA but we are moving house at the end of this month, I want to know AXA have dealt with this and that I won't end up with a debt against my name, especially as I will be travelling to Canada again next year.
Any suggestions?

You've fallen foul to AXA's usual incompetence, see below link for more Axa stories
Contact the FSA and ask them to look into it, Canada & US are similar in these cases and you probably are responsible for the bill.
I am an Ex-Pat Brit (Hertfordshire) living and working in Florida. I work for a major Hospital group (7 hospitals and 14 urgent care clinics around the Orlando area) dealing with all you tourists that holiday here and then go home leaving medical bills behind you unpaid.
My job is to track you down and get the bills paid and I deal with UK insurers many times each day. No matter what your horror story is, I’ve heard them all and Brits usually have the same story to tell.
I am officially a Debt Collector, and that usually scares people. Don’t be worried, it is usual business here in Florida to use debt collection agencies. If you get a letter or call from a debt collector remember DO NOT IGNORE THEM – CONTACT THEM IN THE WAY THEY ASK – don’t assume e-mail is ok the privacy laws state we have to have a verbal confirmation or “ink” signature to confirm you are the patient or other person entitled to the information. The law is on their (or their clients) side, and in ANY case YOU the patient, are responsible for your own debts NOT your insurance company.

Oh Dear, It sounds to me as if you are going through exactly the same problems with Axa as i did, (and still am)
If you want to know more details then you are welcome to e.mail me or reply on here.0 -
If you also are having AXA "itis" if not already, then you need to go to the FSA Ombudsman service - 0845 080 1800C. (Ex-Pat Brit)
