When it was available to over 18s, it did have an optional cheque book.
They withdrew chequebooks a year, or so, before they discontinued the account.
If you already had this facility, you could keep it, however.

Heng Leng is correct. I have held a Card Cash account for almost 12 years and have an Electron card and a cheque book.

Sorry, but you're completely wrong. Card cash does not come with a chequebook (or cheque g card for that matter). You have confused this account with another, I think. Easy to do mind, with Halifax changing their product lines all the time!

    Im sorry?
How can i be completely wrong when i:
    a) Live with my wife
    b) She sends cheques
    c) Has a Visa Electron with CARDCASH written on it
    d) Is most definitely 30 years old

It is you that is confused as i think its a bit weird thinking you know more about my wifes bank account than she does.

    You are in fact wrong.

It would seem the confusion over card cash stems from the changes/transition over the years. In essence, it is quite possible some have chq books while others have.
It is down to the timing i.e. when tey were issued and then they were not withdrawn or modified when new changes were made by bank

Arguably, a credit card may suit your needs better, as you can pay it off over a period of months - Halifax's offer is quite good IIRC.

A credit card would not suit better - hard cash is preferable to a card. I just wish they had made it clear at initial correspondence that i could not reapply for the o/d. That way, i wouldn't have spent as much this month, and would have coped fine without the o/d or a credit card. Their letter was very misleading, inferring i was still eligable.
