Strange Problem - Empire Direct TV Payment

I ordered a television from Empire Direct in September last year gaining using credit through Barclays Partner Finance. This was 9 months interest free credit. I did the usual things, applied online, printed out forms sent them off and received television rather quickly. I never received a few things at the time but after phone calls with empire direct and barclays finance I was told not to worry.

I never got :-
Receipt from Empire Direct
Edextra card from Empire Direct
Welcome Pack from Barclays Partner Finance

My interest free credit runs out next month so today I rang Barclays in order to find out payment details. They have no record of me on the system through any details they asked for me. They wanted a 15 digit code, but I only had a 7 digit code I got in the original e-mail from Barclays. Basically they told me they had no account of me so therefore there was nothing to pay. Empire Direct told me at the time that they wouldn't have sent out the television without Finance being agreed. So i'm totally stumped what to do - I don't want this to bite me on the bottom in the future! Is there anything I can do??

When you bought the tv & arranged the credit, did you have to complete paperwork for Barclays to begin taking direct debit payments from your account?

To cover myself what I think I'd do is phone Barclay's Partner finance again to make yet another enquiry, but make a note of day/time who you spoke to etc & keep these details safe somewhere.

Also, I'd ensure I put the payments for the tv into a savings account, ready to pay should I be contacted for them. Should you be contacted at some point in the future about payments then you have the proof that you tried to instigate payments & the money to meet their demand for payment.

Be nice if you did get a free tv, especially as Empire direct going under has left some people with no backup should things go wrong & money wasted on buying the extended guarantee card.
The bigger the bargain, the better I feel.

I should mention that there's only one of me, don't confuse me with others of the same name.
