Does anyone know if the Credit Card Company is liable if the goods are damaged and not faulty? I took delivery of a washing machine and didn't notice the dented front until after the delivery men had gone. The washing machine company say it's not their problem?

Of course it is their responsibility! Did you buy it online? If so then throw the Distance Selling Regs at them, you can have a refund/cancel within 30 days.
Best to cancel and then buy elsewhere.
S75 applies if you used a credit card to buy it, but you do have to give the retailer a chance to put things right. P.S in the great scheme of things you'd be better to stick to the logic that faulty means the same as damaged!2010 - year of the troll
