car finance, say i wont win and i will pay costs

Hi my daughters car finance finished 2008, she had about £100 worth of charges ,late payments etc. she wrote to them asking for money back, of course they said no. so she continued to send Martins template letters ,right up to the LBA. she told me this company sent her letters saying ,take us to court, we will turn up and we will win ,you will pay our costs. This stance frightened my daughter so she didnt pursue the claim , she said she would have to get court bundle etc ,so for £100 she thought she would just leave it. Yesterday i read this finance companies letters ,and were they being cocky, they said all this reclaiming business does not apply to them ,only to banks and credit card companies, so if you take us to court we will win ,and we will be awarded our costs. she has 3 letters from different people within this finance company, all saying this .Reading this made me determined to start the fight again , but i do agree with my daughter about court bundles etc , so , could this matter be dealt with by the Financial Ombudsman, like to hear your views, would you carry on and reclaim the £100. thanks

When did she take the car finance out?
Furthermore, I agree with you with regards to the court process, since as it is below £5000, she cannot have costs awarded against her. Also court costs would be part of the settlement and the £100 would be part of the settlement.
I have not worked for NatWest Bank since February 2009

Is it really worth all the bother for £100?
She could probably earn more than that in the time involved.
