Hi
I've been trying to have an audio conversation with someone through MSN Messenger version 7.5 for the past couple of days, but there seems to be a problem.
I am able to hear the other person clearly, but they can't hear me at all!
Please can someone tell me what the problem might be and what the easiest/best way of fixing it please.
Thank you.

Hi. How do I do this? As far as I am aware my microphone is working fine.
I have been on the MSN Messenger Help website and this may apparently be the problem: If you are having problems with the voice or video connection, or with a slow file transfer rate, your computer or the computer of the person you are communicating with might be behind a network address translator (NAT) (A device that is used to plug more than one computer into an incoming home Internet connection. Sometimes called a router. ) or a firewall (A security feature designed to help protect a computer from unauthorized external access. Can be hardware, software, or both.) . To fix this problem, you must enable Universal Plug and Play (UPnP) (A popular standard for connecting computers to devices that allows compatibility among a wide variety of networking devices.) on your NAT or purchase a NAT which is UPnP enabled. Also, you may need to upgrade your NAT firmware (A combination of hardware and software in a self-contained device, such as a NAT or router.) ..
Please can someone help me make sense of this as I don't have a clue!
Thank you!0 -
The MSN help page is saying that your internet security maybe stopping the mic from working - as firewalls (internet security) stop the uPnP service from talking to the internet. There are good reasons as there are know hacks via uPnP. Ignore this gibberish and .....
Firstly look in control panel .... Start >> Settings >> Control Panel >> Sound and Audio Devices >> Voice Tab ... and do a hardware test and ensure your mic is working and at the correct volume.
Then look on the MSN help menu and see if there is an audio wizard to check your mic. Also ensure that you do not have any other programmes running that may be using the mic - voip phone etc ...
HTH... otherwise you may have to do what that gibberish says .... :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:Rich people save then spend.

are all your options open in your audio settings??0
