Car Insurance Cancellation HUGE Forfeit

I may be buying another car and my current insurer won't change vehicles, so I will have to cancel my policy and go with someone else.
I have had the insurance since November, so as it stands 4 and a half months.
So I would expect a refund of 7 months and I'd expect to pay an admin fee, so a refund of around £580 + Admin Fee.

I have just searched on the internet and found some more terms & conditions that WERE NOT given to me when I took out the policy, nor were they mentioned.
They state I will only receive a refund of 25% i.e. £250 + Admin Fee.

Do I have a leg to stand on in a complaint? Insurance Ombudsman the way forward?

Mike
