Is there any way of checking whether or not a property is insured, and by whom? My widowed mother-in-law is 86 and all of her paperwork is chaotic. I need to know whether she has maintained the buildings/contents insurance but can find no correspondence.
Do home insurance companies maintain a database like the motoring insurers?
