if you have worked for company before and know them contact HR department directly and see if they have anything. even part time on better rates as no agency involved would be better - plus less fuel if less days too.

People always tell me I am a lucky person because 'things fall in my lap'. I don't think this is true its just that I put myself in the way of opportunities.
    I.

Oh this is sooooo true and not just when it comes to jobs either.

I'm another one considered "lucky" when in fact it's more about putting yourself out there and staying alert to opportunities. .

I was going to say much the same thing. If you already know the people in the company - not necessarily HR, just maybe the managers you have worked for before, you could give them a ring to sound them out, and mention in passing that you are a bit wary of the agency concerned. When you worked in this place before, was it through this same agency?

I'd be inclined to agree with the others overall - a job is a job. If you are already self employed then I guess you don't qualify for benefits so you won't lose them by taking the job and hating it and having to leave (if you see what I mean). I would say there's no harm in giving it a go, but as I say, if you already know the people in the company it is probably worth giving someone there a ring to sound them out.

Oh, and while I'm here, what's with all the RE and GfK jobs mentioned on the alerts thread???? I have ONE solitary job on RE and that's not in my area, and nothing at all on GfK.

Do you live in the Shetland Isles?! :)

Maybe you need to add more defined areas?

I WISH I lived in the Shetlands! That's my dream!

Nope, I'm stuck in miserable Teesside, and my area covers from Newcastle down to Leeds. All I can see is one solitary chemist in Kendal.

Oh, Hi Pammy, long time no see - hope you are well.

Nads - IMO. It's an IT contract so presumably pays well. You've worked there before so they know you and you know what you'll be doing. The agency are irrelevant, if annoying, and just one of those things you have to go through. So the question is really do you want the contract or not?

    Debt September 20th 2022 £2991.68- 96.92% paid off

You can see them right now? As far as I can tell I have all options ticked (except I don't have a business email address), and now my grand total of available jobs on RE has gone to ZERO. I wonder why I can't see clothes shops.
