Strange - Me Spamming Me!?

Strange but here goes. I received a spam message sent from my own email address which arrived into my inbox. I know that spammers can do this but what worries me is this spam email is in my outbox!?

Perhaps someone hacked my account but having looked at the last IPs to access all have been my own (I use gmail).

Any ideas? I have changed my password but I am still worried.

PC should be clean of any virus.

Thanks

Yes - i was thinking that too!

To the O/P - set up a complex series of video camera throughout your upstairs, in case you're doing this in your sleep.
  • You're not the only one that strange e-mails happen too! I get e-mails (SPAM) that don't even have my e-mail address on them! i.e. they don't seem to be sent to me, but I get them anyway!

Spamming sites use people's email addresses to send their stuff around the world by proxy (that's what it's called I think). Once their programs get hold of an email address they will use in this way. Sooner or later most addresses get into this system.

It's a gmail bug/feature. I have several email addresses which I consolidate in gmail so I just sent myself a joke from a website to one of those emails supposedly from my gmail address and it shows up in my outbox too.
