Appartments in Berlin

I'm sure that this has been discussed many times but I'm feeling quite lazy!
Me and four friends have just booked flights to go to Berlin for 5 days in August, however, we're yet to look at accommodation. We're not strictly for an appartment but we've found in previous years (in other cities) it has been the most cost-effective solution.
We're a group of young lads so we'd prefer to be close to city centre (Mitte district) such that it's not too far to stagger home in the early hours!
