Do you think there are many employers that advertise jobs that don't exist?

I would agree with Marvelous on that one - I am sure there are some jobs which are advertised by recruitment agencies just to get peoples details, but I would say there are plenty of jobs which are not advertsied at all, especially with small firms. A friend of mine got a job recently by just ringing around firms in the area regardless of adverts or not. Much better than giving any money to the pesky recruitment agencies anyway.0

In answer to the OP-YES!!!!
My son had experience of recruitment agencies doing this-still advertising the same non-existant job 3 months later'I got a job recently by ringing round-from 25-2 rang me back-in most cases I couldn't get through to the person i needed to speak to,and couldn't get past the receptionist.I prefer this approach to sending in a cv to be binned.0 -

yeah I dont trust recruitment agencies any more. At the end of the day there are very few jobs around so they can please all there clients. There are some very scammy ones out there atmNever Say Die I've tried it and it doesn't actually make people die0 -
Recruitment agencies do this all the time to bolster up their database so they can show employers the kind of candidates they have.0

happens a lot. Freinds often say hes a good worker etc and employers will listen if you are a good worker. Same with family.0
