Using broadband and other services on same line as alarm service

I'm trying to help our local nursery to cut costs. Query regarding phone lines and alarms.
They have an ADT intruder alarm which uses the phone line to make a short phone call (to an 0870 number of course!) when set. In the past they had been told that the phoneline that the alarm was connected to could not also be used for internet access (this was dialup at the time). I'm setting them up with a cheap broadband service. Is there any reason they wouldn't be able to use ADSL on the same line as the alarm?
Also is there any reason why they wouldnt be able to use an orchid dialer on that line?
Thanks in advance.

And the Ochid dialer will need a filter before it plugs in.
There used to be a problem with lines being used by BT redcare monitoring lines, but IIRC even these can be sorted now.0 -
Shouldn't be a problem as long as it's properly filtered. A very small proportion of alarms may cause an issue, but you won't know 100% until you try.0

Nickmack is correct - my neighbour had a wiring problem on his alarm that was detected by the BT engineer when it caused the broadband to drop out.0
