I have accepted an offer on my flat. I recall that my mother is on the deeds as this was added at the time of purchase about 8 years ago.
We do not have a joint bank account at the moment.
As I have never sold before how will I receive the proceeds? Can I nominate whether it is a cheque or bank wire and to whom payment is made?

Hi David,
Presume from your post you're not buying another property, at least not straightaway.
You'll need to discuss this with your solicitor. Your mother's agreement and signature will be required as she's on the deeds. Don't see any reason why the solicitor can't split the payment any way you and your mum agree without the need for it to go into a joint account. Method of payment, cheque, BACS or telegraphic can also be agreed with the solicitor, though if you opt for the latter you'll have to pay a fee for it.0
