Parking ticket

I have had a parking ticket - £30 fine and the reason for the ticket is unnecessary obstruction, now i was parked on a curb but there was definitely enough space for people to walk through and for even a pram to get through. is it worth appealing against but what will this entail as really dont want the hassle of court! i park like this everyday outside my own house and have had no problems in over 2 years and have parked in this spot before with no problems so as you can imagine i am reeling about this!

Is the ticket from the council?
Do they have a policy on "pavement parking" - I know some do0 -
I may be wrong but is it not against the law to park on a pavement anyway, im thinking of blind people etc and perhaps people trying to push prams and have kids beside as well.0

why not just park on the road. There will still be plenty of room for other traffic, where as parking half way on the pavement is obstructing some of the kerb for kerb users.make the most of it, we are only here for the weekend.

Depending on the road layout even parking on the road can cause obstructions, if other people have parked in an inconsiderate manner.
Which is why there is no right to park on the public highway I guess0 -
parking on the road isnt an option as the street is tight enough to get through so would just cause chaos but i have had no problems in the past like i said i park on the kerb outside my house and have done for over 2 years now without a problem! it was from the police the ticket was.0

You may just have been fortune not to get a ticket outside your house before
Personally I would pay and not park in the same place, but others may well advise you of another course of action0 -
My husband is very limited in his vision and to be quite honest people parking on kerbs anywhere, even outside their own homes are a bliddy nuisance.make the most of it, we are only here for the weekend.

there is little point in arguing an 'obstruction' FPN against plod. Only recourse is Mags Court and your chances would be very slim.

I agree with Neil B. Spot on advice.0
