Life after Amazon Mastercard - where next ?

What cards are people looking at getting to replace the Amazon credit card - now it is being replaced with a naff Halifax one that gives no returns .

I'm looking for rewards credit cards not cashback (as use BA Amex for most spending so really not that high a spend) for use where Amex isn't taken and internet shopping.

Any suggestions of cards gratefully received !

Thanks

Stu

I'm getting the Halifax cashback one: http://www.halifax.co.uk/creditcards/cashback.asp

Works out more or less the same thing as the Amazon Mastercard. As we were getting 1 point for purchases at Amazon website and 0.5 point elsewhere for every pound spent.

Going to cancel the Amazon card once I get my final voucher from Amazon.co.uk

Thanks darkcloudi. I have just seen the new Play credit card advertised. Seems more or less the same as the Amazon one except you earn Play vouchers and not Amazon of course :

play works at 1% back I think. There's also nectar, goldfish, john lewis, tesco clubcard, etc, all of which will get you some reward.

the only problem with nectar is that it's an Amex so not accepted as widely. Personally, I'd go for a combo of an Amex + another that is visa/mastercard so you know you have all your bases covered!

Thanks again, I'll have good look at all of them before deciding. The Halifax cashback and nectar cards would probably be a good combination.

I am with the Play.com as it's a pretty good deal and I like the products they sell. I always found the idea of the Amazon card good but the vouchers were a nightmare to chase up, I'd get an email one month but not the next.

I like the Amazon card GCs as I read lots of books so it was great to get one every few months.

I never had a problem receiving them, though I had to chase one up once but that was because they'd sent it to an old email address which I could no longer access (my fault) but they sorted it out quickly once I explained what had happened.
