Please Help DCA Letter. Dont know what to do

I've been going through claiming back overdraft charges with the Halifax and have received a DCA letter chasing the debt on behalf of Halifax.
I read on this post (http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showthread.html?t=1619223&highlight=bank+charges+debt+collection) to send a letter to
the DCA (Its a company called Blair, Oliver & Scott). I'm not claiming hardship but I dont really have the money they are asking to pay back right now. They're claiming I owe £1150 and i'm claiming charges and interest of £1600.
I rang collections at Halifax and the woman said they are still pursing collections on accounts regardless of the case.
I dont know what to do, somebody please help.

OK, firstly let's deal with the charges. Have you put in a claim to Halifax over the bank charges?
Have they acknowledged the claim?0 -
Yes i've sent the letter and had an acknowledgement with what looks like the standard reply saying have registered claim but waiting outcome of test case0

Send a letter to the dca inrelation to the administration of justice act 1979, advice them that you do not wish to be contacted by them and that you will only deal with halifax in writting and that the debt is under dispute. Also worth advicing them that continued contact will be classed as harrasment.0

What letter is that? and how does that protect me?0

Anyone? Please, i'm really worried0

"ACCOUNT IN DISPUTE
Dear Sir/Madam,
Your ref:
Thank you for your letter of **DATE**, the contents of which are noted.
I am disputing the total value of these debts with **BANK** due to unlawful and unreasonable charges. As such, therefore, I consider this account to be in dispute and no further action or payment shall be made until this matter is resolved.
As per OFT guidelines Section 2.8k "not ceasing collection activity whilst investigating a reasonably queried or disputed debt."
This process may take some time, due to the Office of Fair Trading's test case, but I will try to expedite this issue as a matter of urgency.
I hope that you will enter into a sincere dialogue with me about this matter and I am writing this letter to you on the assumption that you would prefer to do this than merely respond with standard letters and leaflets.
I would appreciate your due diligence in this matter.
I look forward to hearing from you in writing.
Yours faithfully"
SEND the above to the DCA and deal with the bank only.0 -
Thanks very much.
Will this make the DCA leave me alone? Will it get passed back to the bank?0 -
You need to deal with the bank only on your claim. If any other DCA sniffs around send them the letter and they will go away.DaisyDaisy82 wrote: »Thanks very much.

EDIT: Blair Oliver Scott are in house DCA for Halifax.(hint is the first initials BOS
