help with cashplus mastercard!

I have got a cashplus card which i have used a few times on the internet not in shops.

Last week i ordered a tesco delivery, done and paid for but the following day i checked my account and there is a transaction gone through for £2 for tesco cheshunt, now problem being i live in north scotland, so why has this come out of my account and what is it?

Any ideas?

Every time you pay by your card you authorise a company to take some specific amount from your card account. If you have not authorised £2 payment, you can dispute this transaction: What happens if a transaction that is not mine appears on my account?
If you believe that any of the transactions in which your card was used are unauthorised or you believe a transaction has been incorrectly posted to your account, you may claim a refund of the applicable amount by phoning Customer Services on 0870 609 2075 or by writing to us within 14 days of the date of the relevant transaction.
We reserve the right to investigate all requests for a refund, and we may charge an investigation fee. See terms and conditions for full details
P.S. However, £2 is very small amount and you will spend the same on 0870... call.
  • Is this in addition to the actual debit for the Tesco shopping? It might be a separate authorisation transaction carried out to validate your card, however this would not normally happen with an Internet purchase as they'd validate your card there and then.

You could try calling Tesco online shopping to check, (not that they would be able to do anything for you if it is a disputed transaction) otherwise it looks like grumbler's advice is the way to go.

I don't think the Cheshunt connection is anything sinister as I'm pretty sure thats where Tesco's head office is based.

It definately is where Tesco's HO is.

  • Tesco always take a £2 debit to ensure the payment card / account is active before they process / deliver your order.

will be interseting to see if Broadcast (cashplus) charge you a transaction fee for the £2 as well as the purchase price
 It’s hard enough remembering my opinions - without remembering my reasons for them
