Hotels near Dorset

I'm looking at taking my sister (21) and little niece (2) away for a couple of days in August. She's having a bit of a rough time at the mo, just been made redundant, struggling with money, and i know if she could afford it she'd love to get away for a couple of days. I've not mentioned anything to her yet as i want to price it up and work out if i can afford to take them away.

I live in Kent, and as i'm a new driver i'm not looking at driving to far, so i have been looking at Dorset. We have been their a few times as my aunt used to live in Bournemouth, and the beach, and entertainment was always great.

I've had a little look around, but no joy yet. Can anyone recommend a nice hotel, or cottage, near the beach? i'm looking at going late August.

Any help would be great and very much appreciated :A

Many thanks,

There are quite a few lovely B&B's in the Alum Chine area of Bournemouth. Just Google the name and take your pick. I used to stay there a lot as a kid and still remember the walk down the Chine to the beach.

I live near Bournemouth, a cheap road with lots of hotels on near the beach is St Micheals road, if you type in Hotels Bournemouth St Micheals Road it has a list of about 8/9 hotels, i just did it myself to test it! There are other places i'm sure and deals to be had but that should at least give you an idea of the cheaper place to stay which is still near the sea, you could multimap the road to get ideas of roads that are near to it. Hope it helps, shall keep an eye out!

You could always try Swanage - that is on the coast and not far from Bournemouth.
