Which wireless router?

Seen a Netgear 108 I want but then realised there is 2 different versions! Which one do I want? I'm on BT broadband at the moment, the 2 I've seen are;

http://www.microdirect.co.uk/ProductInfo.aspx?ProductID=5625&GroupID=1072 - Netgear WGT624 108mb Wireless Router and Firewall

http://www.microdirect.co.uk/ProductInfo.aspx?ProductID=8011&GroupID=1072 - Netgear DG834GT 108Mbps Wireless ADSL Router & Firewall

I won't be buying them from here as eBuyer seem to be cheaper. TIA.

    You will need the adsl one.

    Don't forget you need a pci card as well if you aint got one installed.

    The DG834GT has a built-in ADSL modem. If you already have an ADSL modem for your BT Broadband connection you could connect it via Ethernet cable to the WGT624 (if your modem has an Ethernet port), therefore saving a bit of money. I'd go for the DG though as a single device is generally easier to set up than a separate modem and router.

    Like Britmark says go for the ADSL one as it's got a built in modem. To share internet connection you'd just configure your modem / router with your ISP details rather than using your existing modem on one computer and setting up Internet Connection Sharing on it.

    Cheers, needed the card for my laptop, found someone selling the bundle for £90 which seems pretty cheap.

    Is that hard to do? I've heard that netgear are quite easy to use and set-up.

    I'm sure I saw the bundle in PC World for 79.99, but that was a few days ago; I'd gone in to buy the dg834g bundle which they had had a few days earlier for 59.99, but by the time I went in it had gone up to 89.99!

    That's with the USB adaptor rather then the card for laptops

    piece of piddle, connect to the router using the network cable, usually supplied. Log onto the router and use the wizard (if the netgear have them) and it'll go through the steps for setting it up using the PPPOA option.
    Although i've only done Belkin ones but Netgear can't be much different.
  • I also use Belkin and it's been a good router, second pc is down stairs and its gets 50 mbs connection all the time.
    When it’s upstairs it’s a constant 120 mbs and we play lan games all the time and it never drops the connection.
    I'm not poor i'm just skint
