Credit Card PPI - RBS

Had an RBS credit card since 1994 and was paying PPI until I saw this website. Cancelled PPI a couple of months ago. Have asked for terms, they keep sending me a leaflet with very little info. Asked for schedule of PPI payments but the schedule they sent me only went back to 2003. I am sure I have a case for reclaim for several reasons.

Should I just go straight for the first letter? Can I claim back to 1994? I don't like the idea that I have been paying for possibly worthless insurance for so long but can only get a fraction back. Can anyone advise me of my next step?

Many thanks

    Hi there

I would give it a go anyway.
Yes you go for it, if it was worthless to you anyway, try reclaiming what you have paid in PPI, plus interest.

You do not need the figures for the reclaim letter, below is the link to useful PPI info and letter templates on reclaiming, just add your own reasons.

They have 8 weeks to respond in full.

If they don't resolve this in your favour you should be given the opportunity to write back in order for them to reconsider.

However, if you hear nothing at all by those 8 weeks then go straight to the Financial ombudsman service (FOS).

In the final response they should give details on the FOS, if your not satisfied with the outcome of your complaint.

Post all letters by recorded delivery to ensure your letters have reached the departments, you can check this out online Royal mail "tracking".

If you no longer have the agreement for this, write to them in a separate letter, and enclose a £1 postal order or cheque payment to cover the cost of this, and they should supply by 12 days, again post by recorded delivery, good luck and just yell for help when required.;)
It may be difficult for them to retrieve the agreement due to the age of this, but they shold return the payment if they are unable to send this.
The one and only "Dizzy Di" :D
