DO NOT park on any retail park anywhere ever! ppcs don't know how to behave themselves and will try and ticket or possibly clamp you for something imaginary!
Should be able to find several unrestricted roads to the south of there in the evening. maybe just SE of Charlton stn then catch a bus on Woolwich Rd - OR - park at the dome? - if available (although ppc risk again) and catch a bus back to peninsular RP from the tube station.

Is there anyway of parking at the Dome without paying £20. Is it possible to park in the tube station car park relatively cheaply as we are getting there quite early?0

According to this:

Parking at the underground is £6 a day - That might be the one?
If you can walk a bit further, there is parking at Westcombe Park station for an off-peak rate of £2.60 between 2pm & 4am.0 -
Dear Pogofish
How far is it to westcombe station?
Thanks

On the OS multimap, it is almost exactly two 1Km grid squares, so around one and a quarter miles. Westcombe is the station adjacent to the A102 - So depending on how briskly you walk, not very far.
