I have just received a flyer from DELL offering a 20% discount from their warranty making it £80 for 3 years. Can anyone advise if this is worth it?
Thanks

Waranties are rarely 'worth it' unless they are free.
To give you an idea, in most industries, Warranties are sold at 100% markup or more. Them giving you 20%, still gives them a decent profit.
Whether you go for it though, depends on a few things:
- Whether you want piece of mind
- How you rate Dell in terms of reliability
- If you know anyone who can fix simple problems, cheaply or free0 -
In my experience, if it was a desktop PC, then I wouldn't bother. If it were a laptop and of reasonable spec (£450+), then I would.. Nothing worse than an 18 month old laptop with a dead screen!!
Even further consideration should be made if it's their NBD on-site warranty (which everytime I've used it has been first class).
Furthermore, the Dell Warranties are transferable, so should you sell the kit before the warranty expires, you have something that's more appealable.0
