 HELP
I've got a watford electronics aries pc (its about 18 months old) & its driving me crazy
the problem is with any 3d games (logo racers etc) they seem to load up ok but at soom as they start to play they either freeze or crash out completely
I spec-ed a Radion fx7800 graphics card coz i wanted to use the machine for some 3d design software (rhino) & am wondering if this is causing the problem
I've been onto watford customer care line & all they could come up with was that, 1. i might not have the latest drivers, or 2. that it might be overheating (although it has a large dedicated graphics card fan
As you can imagine i'm getting pretty fed up with it & really have contemplated tossing it out into the street
I'm also getting grief from the rest of the family for not fixing it
so can any one help... please...
cheers

I bought a new graphics card for my PC a couple of months ago - had exactly the same problem. Got a replacement and it did the same. Gave up and changed it for a different model altogether. No problems since (and yes, I tried updating drivers and using old legacy ones but to no avail).0

i'd say try a new graphics card.0

dunc - can you be more specific to which card it is? (also if it's agp/sli etc) as a FX 7800gt for example is a VERY good card.
Obviously install the latest graphics drivers (probably should be some with the card).Lady Astor: "Winston, if I were your wife I'd put poison in your coffee."

Gottit! (I think). Check the power requirements for the graphic card (maybe 300 watts?). Some cards are quite power hungry and you need to check this requirement against the output of your PSU in the PC - I think that's what was my problem now I've had a chance to think back.0

i would also go down the route of changing the graphics card....its not cheap but cheaper than changing the whole base unit0

thanks for the replies :T
I'm working away at the moment so was only going from memory as to the card details but will check it out at the weekend
I went onto the ATI website a couple of weeks ago & they have a thing to check if you have the latest drivers & it said that mine were the latest so i'll check out the other solutions suggested & get back to you
cheers
