and wear and tear damage for eg it breaks after the one year period
NO home insurance will cover this loss, all will exclude it. You need to purchase an additional extended warrantee policy for this protection.
Most comprehensive home insurance policies will cover accidental damage to audio-visual equipment like TV's.
Most companies are ok but in general you do get what you pay for. If you make sure that you understand what you are covered for (and not covered for) and make it clear what you expect within that, then most companies should be fine.0 -

If it genuinelly gets dropped & damaged then the claim would be valid, if it's helped on it's way to the floor by a friendly human, then no it wont.:p:pThe bigger the bargain, the better I feel.
I should mention that there's only one of me, don't confuse me with others of the same name.0 -

If it breaks down you should claim on your warranty if you have one or pay for the repairs / replacement out of your own pocket (Unless SOGA applies). Home Insurance is not for wear and tear0

The chances are that it will, if they do catch you then you could be prosecuted for fraud and / or have your Insurance cancelled which would make it very very difficult for you to get Insurance cover for your car or home etc.
The Insurers are getting very good at spotting dodgy claims, you will probably "drop your tv down the stairs while moving it" which rings alarm bells, they will also take into account the age of your tv. Some Insurers even use lie detecting machines at the other end of a telephone or special interviewing techniques when interviewing people which highlight when people are lying.
The other give away is someone who has not had insurance before or for a long time who then takes out cover and the puts in this type of claim.
If you are going to do it then be aware of the potential consequences0 -
