Home phone/broadband with no minimum term?

I am moving into a flat which has a BT box on the wall.

I can't live without the internet - not too bothered about the phone.

Is there any providers out there who won't tie me in to a contract? I have my own router etc and don't need any of the free ones they offer.

  • Yes, The Post Office has no minimum term.

Best say that the line is specifically for broadband, as this *should* ensure that a DACS (split) line isn't enabled (which won't support ADSL)

Just checked their website and you're right, no minimum term - but their broadband is for 12 months.

Would they let me get broadband from someone else?

Yes you can have broadband from anyone when using PO for your telephone, however you'll find that most bb suppliers will require a 12 month contract.

Mobile broadband? Vodafone do a PAYG version where your top-up does not expire.
