Hotel at Stansted Airport

Options
Hey all

Im after a cheap night in a hotel as close to stansted airport as possible (ideally walking distance).

The only one I can find is the Radisson SAS Hotel London Stansted Airport @ £115 per night.

It will be for 1 night, 23rd May, for 1 adult.

Can anyone help? (I have tried the days in price policy, but they are refusing on room descriptions!)

Thanks, Dale.

Right, I have found out that the following hotels are all onsite. The Radisson being the closest. I have looked at a few prices (direct and through an agent), the best ones I can find are below:

Radisson SAS Hotel London Stansted Airport @ £115
Hilton London Stansted Airport @ £96.80 (room only)
    Express by Holiday Inn - LONDON-STANSTED AIRPORTR @ £67.47

Can any one help drive down these prices? any codes etc?

    Thanks

I had a look on the Travelodge site and there was a £26 room available at Harlow North Weald, 12 miles from the airport, if that's any good. I realise that's not walking distance but an easy cab ride.

I Use The Radisson, but tend to book only about 2 weeks before travel and only pay about £80,( for a double room) its the closest hotel to the airport, only 3mins walk under a covered walkway.

So Bluemorph, your saying if I leave it until 2 week before and book then, its likely to be cheaper?

Just looked on the radisson site and have realized the reason i get it for about £80 is because i always stay on a sunday night, week days are more expensive.

if you stayed at the travel lodge , it would only be 20/25 quid to the airport.
    try this one

or this one http://theoldbellhotel.com/ still a short cab ride but worth a look

Well there is another option, Stansted has been voted one of the best airports in the world for allowing people to bed down in the airport, when I leave work at night I often have to step over hundreds of bodies all kipping down. Of course its personal preference!!

A couple of points the Express Inn, though close, would be difficult to walk to and from the airport given there are no footpaths going to the airport and also there are no catering facilities close by, unless you want to eat stale sarnies and over priced pastries from the BP next door. Your best bet would be to stay close, as previously stated and get a cab in.

    All the best

the Radisson Stansted is a wonderful airport hotel, and if you can afford the extra well, well, worth it. It has great rooms, a funky bar (with an acrobat getting your botel of wine), quiet pool - and it is literally 2 minutes walk to the check in desk. i used it last year when I had an early flight and it got my holiday off to a great start.

Yep, so £115 is the best price for the Radisson. Id like the idea of getting there early and taking the time to use the gym and pool!

Im travelling down from Sheffield via train (dont have a car), flying at 8am, so thats the reason im having this trouble.

Although im trying my best to do this on a budget! So the info on kipping there overnight is quite useful! Im also arriving directly at Stansted, so the cost of cabs to and from a hotel would add to expense.

hmmmm decisions decisions! Do Radisson ever do any decent promotions?
