Electoral roll credit score woes.

in Credit cards
Evening all,
Recently I signed up to CreditExpert in a bid to improve my credit score as I don't tend to have an awful lot of luck applying for credit.
On my credit report I read that there was no record of my electrol roll registration against my flat (rented). I called up the council to make sure that I was registered, I was. So I called up CreditExpert to ask why there was no record of this, a helpful chap called Paul had a look around and found that they did have the information that I was on the electoral roll but that all of the address info was scrambled up. He said he would fix it and that my credit report would reflect this in a few days.
Also, I checked my credit score which was 900+, a big shock to me...'why haven't I accepted for credit?', I thought to myself? My questions...
1) Do credit companies have the same information as CreditExpert? i.e. Did the credit companies read that I was not on the electoral register.
2) After CreditExpert have fixed it on their records, will Credit companies then be able to see it? Or do I need to contact other companies to see if their records are correct?
3) When it is fixed, should I re-apply for credit straight away? (I haven't been frivolously applying credit here-there-and-everywhere.)
It is also worth nothing that I have rented three different properties in the past three years, and that I was not on the electoral roll at these properties.
Thanks in advance for any help!
Cheers

Not all CRA's carry the same info.
A change on one will not mean a change on the other.
You need to chase it up with all three.
And I would suggest waiting a little while if you have been search heavy, say 6 months.Got Halifax Classic to reduce my interest rate by 5% woohoo - 10/06/08 Thanks MSE!
Another 3% shaved off 10/12/08
ANOTHER 4 % June 09:beer:0 -
Thanks for the quick response, I only had to endure jabbing the refresh button twice!
Forgive my noobishness, but which are the three CRA's? I shall google it now so as not to be lazy!
I've gotten a lot better at not applying for credit within the past few months, I've applied for two cards in the past 6 months.
Thanks again. Any more input gladly welcomed.0 -
Equifax, Experian aaand...TransUnion is all I can find for a third.0
-
CallCredit is the 3rd one.Almost debt-free, but certainly even with the Banks!0
-
Call Credit is the other one, TransUnion isnt one for the UK m8.0
-
Aye, TransUnion didnt sound like it was for the UK.
Just mooching around on CallCredit's website, does anyone know how to check my electoral details without signing up? As I dont fancy paying (can't see a free trial), and also because I dont have a Visa or Mastercard.0 -
CallCredit is hardly used by credit companies - focus on Experian and Equifax and making sure your info there is correct0

for various reasons, mainly hiding from my ex husband, bless him, i deliberately kept myself off the electoral roll. then a bank would only give me the very basic of accounts because they couldnt trace where i had been for the previous 5 years. if you havent been on the roll at your previous addresses, that may be why.xxx0

This doesn't always matter though because so long as you keep bills, especially council tax annual bill and send it in with an appeal you'll almost certainly get accepted. Omission from the Electoral Register does not constitute a high risk, it is simply an immediate fail on any automated scoring techniques. Therefore if you kept say your annual council tax bills and sent this with a letter saying you wanted to omit yourself from the ER but proof of residency is attached then the lender would most likely override the decline.
