i never know what to buy my hub,men are soooooooooooo hard to buy for !
instead i make a real effort and cook him a fab 3 course meal, followed by pampering him with a massage etc ; )
also i just buy / make a card,and find / make up a nice poem0 -
Write him a coupon book or list of alternative presents - back rub, you watching footie with him without complaining, doing some DIY or some household chore for each other - my dh does a mean pedicure which is bliss <G>
Or write a list of "ten reasons I love you" (get a long strip of paper - stick several together and fold up to make an accordion card/album - put one reason on each square) or make up an empty jar decorate it with "love reasons" or "Memories" and fill it with little love notes or "do you remember when notes" You could both do it between now and then and then splurge on your favourite goodies and sit and open 'em all up on your respective birthdays or a joint celebratory occasion.
Other cheap/original dates - but may be a bit more difficult include - finding out when his favourite author was giving a talk at a local bookstore and booking tickets, he bought me tickets to a show at lastminute.com and then told me the two tickets were only 7.50 and the meal was a BOGOF <G> We've also done wanders around a book/music store - a couple of hours sans les enfants and then an ice cream sundae at a nice restaurant (desserts are always a nice treat and much cheaper than a full meal), museum wanders are another cheap way of spending time together and we've done several different ones.
Hope you both have a great birthday

Does he support a footie team? I have just bought from ebay a photo of my dads team from the year he was born (1935) for £4.99. Hopefully he will be thrilled!0
