my volume is dirty what does it mean

started up my computer this am and a screen come up ive never seen b4
right at the top it said file system on C NTFS the volume is dirty
then beneath that was CHKDSK, then it done a check on files, indexes, security discriptors, ans usn journals
should l b worried and if so what do l need to do...
