post office.. how much can you withdraw from a diff bank account through them

Hi all, i need to withdraw £500 from my tsb tomorrow, however they have stupid limit of £200 per day, so even if i go and get £200 from the cashpoint today, ill still be £100 down. Does anyone know if you can withdraw more than the limit throught he post office or would that just be the same as a cashpoint? I ask this because the nearest tsb branch is miles away, whereas the nearest post office is 5 mins.
Waddle you do eh?

Max amount with LTSB is now £300 but if you have Gold Platinum or Premier it is £500.
Why not pop down into a branch and make the withdrawal there?

If you have another account you could transfer money from LTSB to that account and withdraw at Post Office if allowed, or maybe a friend has a LTSB and you could transfer the money to their account and get them to withdraw the cash for you.

With the Alliance & Leicester, if you telephone them first you can lift any amount through the post office, you tell them how much you want and what office you are going to.

You can cash a cheque (Lloyds TSB) at the PO up to your guarantee card limit as well as getting your daily limit through the machine on the counter. The machine limit will be at least £200, possibly more.

Note that to cash a cheque you need your chequebook, not just the cheque. They mark off a chart in it to stop you cashing more than one a day.

    Is this facility still available?
I would have thought with the increased use of cards and the chip and pin system they would have stopped cashing cheques especially as most cards these days have both cheque card and debit card capability.

I don't know if this is the case but it would make sense to me.

If you contact the TSB branch - they can adjust the daily limit for you. I moved from First Direct to the TSB. With FD you could get £500 per day from the service till. I asked them to offer the same thing and she did ask a few questions as to why, but changed my daily limit to £500. That was a couple of years ago but I doubt they have changed the rules.

Yes it is - for a couple of banks. Lloyds, Barclays and possibly BOI from memory. The others have stopped it if it was ever available.
