My Clio's Alarm won't stop!!

Hope you can help!

Today I went to use my Clio (52 plate) for the first time in 6 weeks or so and having unlocked it as normal when I opened the door the alarm started.

I closed the door and tried locking to reset with the remote key, however, it locked but the alarm carried on ringing for 30 seconds or so.

I tried again, opened the door and alarm started again! Tried starting the engine to see whether that would stop it but engine wouldnt start (batt dead I guess) so locked it and after 30 seconds alarm stopped.

Any idea's? Can I disconnect it at all whilst I charge battery and how?

Thanks

the flat battery could be causing the alarm to go off.

have you tried jump starting it?

If the alarm is sounding, then the ignition may well be immobilised, which is why you can't start it.
