if he really is hitting the self destruct button, it may kinder all round to ask to have him put into hospital for a while, just to get his meds back on track. once they start messing up the medication, or start to need different medication, all kinds of things go wrong. and as a previous poster has said, please find out about some help and support for yourself, and respite care. much as you want to, you cant do it all.xx0

Hi I appealed against the tribunals decision and won on a point of law. Here is what to do
Appealing a tribunal decision.
A tribunal decision can only be appealed to the Administrative Chamber of the Upper Tribunal. In order to launch an appeal the appellant must have requested a written statement of the tribunal's reasons for its decision and applied to the tribunal chairman for permission to appeal.
For all disability benefits an appeal to the Comissioner can only proceed if the tribunal decision was wrong in law. The Upper Tribunal's web site gives the following as examples of where the tribunal may be wrong in law-- The tribunal did not apply the correct law or wrongly interpreted the law.
- The tribunal made a procedural error.
- The tribunal had no evidence, or not enough evidence, to support its decision.
- The tribunal did not give adequate reasons for its decision in the written statement of its reasons.

My partner was diagnosed with Bi-polar at the end of last year and thankfully there was a CAB Office located in the psych section - she was really helpful and filled in the forms. We were succesfull with our claim.0

You definately need CAB or DIAL to fill out the forms. They know the correct way of saying things.
I too know a bi-polar sufferer who has been on DLA many years.0 -
Definetly lodge an appeal and definetly get help from CAB/DIAL. I have a friend with bipolar who recieves DLA and she advised me to get help filling in the forms and i've just been awarded MRC/LRM for depression/bod but i honestly dont think i would have got it had i tried to fill it in on my own as i'm hopeless with forms and tend to play down my conditionThis is a system account and does not represent a real person.
