Help! One of my programs has stopped working!

Hi All

I really don't know what's going on with my pc. I have an Acer Windows Vista desktop pc which came with Roxio Media Manager/Creator 9 pre-installed.
I haven't used it for a while, but when I've come to use it today to create a cd for OH, it just won't start up. I click on the icon in the Start menu and it just doesn't do anything.
I've checked in the Program Files on my hard drive and the folder's still there with everything in it (that I'm aware of).
Have tried doing a system restore, to no avail and there are no viruses.

Can anyone help?

Thanks!
;)I am not a complete idiot - some parts are missing;)

Was it a full version or a limited-time trial?

You probably don't need it if you're just looking to burn a CD...
  • It's a full version for sure.
I do need it...because it does dvds, cds etc....I hate windows media player cos it's about as stable as a dog with 3 legs!

Did you get a restore/back-up disc with the PC? It should be on there. It might just need re-installing.

    Otherwise, try Ashampoo.

I have had problems with Roxio long time ago because I think I had deleted data files it had used last time I burned disks always a hassle program anyway.

I can highly recommend CDBurnerXP which is a full FREE package, works really well and is regularly supported and up dated.

"CDBurnerXP is a free application to burn CDs and DVDs, including Blu-Ray and HD-DVDs. It also includes the feature to burn and create ISOs, as well as a multilanguage interface. Everyone, even companies, can use it for free. It does not include adware or similar malicious components."
  • sillygoose...thanks for that.
Does the program work on Vista? Also, does it have the capability of creating "jukebox" cds?

cannot say I have tried it on Vista but it should as it claims...

"Q: What are the system requirements?
A: All operating systems from Microsoft Windows 2000 SP4 onwards are supported. "

as to a jukebox cd? sorry I am an old duffer. don't know what that is!

    it claims....?

    Create Audio Disc

An audio CD is the type common CD players use. You can create such a disc from audio files with the extension .wav, .mp3, .ogg, .wma, .flac, .aiff, .bwf and .mp2. Check Audio Formats for further information.
To create such a compilation select Audio Disc, from the startup screen.
