Someone's gonna have to explain that to me. I never was all that competant with mathematics. I'm pretty sure 300% of 1 is 3, has brussels brought out a new directive or sommat?
300% of 1 is indeed 3. However 300% more is not the same, it means 100% + 300%.
If you buy sugar in a 1kg bag, and the next day you went to the supermarket and it now said "100% extra free" you'd expect it to have 1kg extra, that is 2kg in total. Likewise if it said "300% extra free" you'd expect it to have 3kg extra; 4kg.
Or a more MSE example, would you borrow on a credit card with 100% APR?
