Best business bank account for New IT Contractor?

I was made redundant from my previous full time job and have not secured a contract position for an IT based ccompany.
I have read that the best way for me to go about this is to set up a Ltd. company.
Can anyone recommend any banks offering accounts with cheap charges or specially for contractors.
I am also looking for a good accountant who will do most things and specialises in contractors.
Any advice is much appreciated.
Thanks in advance.

Need first Business Account - Anyone gone through finding best and lowest charges. I dont want anything fancy, just need to be able to pay money into a business account, BACS and cheques.0

I use Cater Allen - Private bank, they are part of the Santander Group, so if you have an Abbey Current account, payments go same day.0

I am with Lloyds TSB and have free business banking with them, I havent been with them long and think they are ok. Most of the major banks offer free business banking to new businesses although I was given a tip that when this free period ends, I should move banks and then get another 3 years free banking:rotfl:
As for the OP - there are pros and cons for setting up as a limited company, maybe you should speak to businesslink or your local chamber of commerce as they give free advice. As for an accountant - all accountants prepare accounts and I don't think that they specialise in one field i.e. contractors they will do anyone's accounts as long as you are prepared to pay them.0 -
Where are you based - some accountants do have specialists for handling contractors, IR35 issues etc?0
