how to dismantle a shed

A friend of mine wants to get rid of a wooden shed I think its 6' by 4', and she's said I can have it if I can dismantle and collect it. So can anyone tell how I might do that, is it going to difficult, and any chance I might get it on or in an astra?

what you need is 'some Mothers do 'Ave 'em' cos Frank Spencer dismantled a shed in about a minute...

some of em are bolted together, so they should be fairly easy to dismantle.
most of em are simply nailed together. more difficult. you will need a few crowbars to prise the joints apart and then maybe cut the nails with a hacksaw/blade.
using at least 2 men will help a lot.

you will need at least a roofrack to transport it home. tie it down well and drive slowly!
you may need a few trips.

Felt off roof and bin it, buy new.

    Roof off.

Walls (hopefully screwed and not nailed) seperated from each other and base.

    Lift up base.

    Job done.

You'll be pushing it to get it into the boot of your Astra. ;)

Do the above in reverse when you get it home.

I put one on the roof of my Zafira, but wouldn't recomend doing it on a windy day.
It came apart into four panels, and a roof, and was an easy job for two people.
