Land right issues???

I hope someone can help me with this problem.

I have recently purchased a house. The house has a side garden I would like to change into a parking space/drive. But there’s a few access and land issues surrounding it.
If I change the garden to a drive, to access the drive I will have to drive over someone else’s land to get to it. The land in question I have to drive over is basically a road in front of someone else’s house which is used as access already to a new build project to the rear of my property,
The problem is the Guy who owns the land is being a bit funny about it, I asked him what he thought of the idea and he didn't approve. When I got home the other week Right in front of my garden, on his land he’s had a big 6ft by 4ft sign put up saying no parking! (Which has well P$%£ed me off!!!!)
The sign is right where the access would have been if I go ahead with the drive. The house and land owner has to give access to the rear of my property and the other properties by all accounts. So if I changed my garden into a drive would he have to remove the sign and give me access to my land?

I just wondered if anyone knows the rights in this situation? I don't really want to starts arguments with my neighbour I’ve only lived here a few months?

Any help would be much appreciated.

Well it is his land, And the owner has rights to do as they wish. And no, He woudnt have to move the sign, Its his right if he doesnt want anyoone to drive over his land.

Only thing you could do is offer to buy the land off him.

nope he doesnt have to let you use his land for your drive.

Its awkward as you have only lived there a few months and you dont want a dispute with the neighbour this quickly, maybe if you paid him an amount for renting he might be more amenible, i doubt he would sell you the land as he would need access to it still and you could pull the same stunt as he has.

the way to look at it, is would you want people driving over your land to park there car? i know i wouldnt.
