One will then be told that it doesn't apply to existing customers and that one can do one.0 -
Even if a new customer, however, just clicking 'Apply' under 'O% overdraft' takes you to the same online application as clicking 'Apply' under 'Get Started'. The online application (if it is still the same as the one I completed in December) doesn't ask if you wish to apply for an overdraft at any point. Abbey's overdrafts are approved (or not) quite separately - only after a face-to-face approach by the customer to a branch and they want copies of your existing bank statements. Fair enough - but then they don't actually offer an online overdraft application/approval system - even a 'foot in the door' scheme whereby you print off something and send it to a freepost address with your statements enclosed for a decision. This I consider misleading. No, they are still corralling people into (already stuffed) branches for the simple exercise of photocopying of this material and give you no other way to achieve an overdraft.opinions4u wrote: »One rings Abbey up and one asks them.

Very poor effort and quite frustrating for customers. Largely negates the whole 'online' experience. Other banks display common sense whereas Abbey is stuck doing things in branches - as though it was still a building society with about a fifth as many customers......under construction.... COVID is a [discontinued] scam0 -

Love it! :rotfl:I spent 25 years in the mobile industry, from 1994 to 2019. Worked for indies as well as the big networks, in their stores also in contact centres. I also hold a degree in telecoms engineering so I like to think I know what I’m talking about 😂0 -
Ah, Abbey. "More ideas for your money"... pity none of those ideas are any good.

As far as i am aware, if you get paid £800 for example, remove £200 from an ATM then pay it back into the account, hence you have paid in £1000 for the month.
I read this regarding an A&L account that required £1000 to be put into the account in a month, not sure if Abbey is different.0 -
Abbey is same. They want 1k monthly credit from any source0
