Hi, I am not a gardener - just wanted to make that point from the outset!
However, I really want to start growing my own fruit, veg and herbs and have absolutely no idea where to start.
Can anyone give me an idiot's guide to what I can do NOW to start being self sufficient please? I need to know what I can grow, where to grow, when to plant, how to maintain, and when to harvest!!
I don't want much do I?
Any help gratefully received but please remember, I have to do this on a budget! :rotfl:
Thanks Ru x

First bit of advice, choose a few things in year 1 and read plenty. I am afraid without knowing any more it is impossible to help [I mean, have you got anywhere to grow anything yet?] If not, you will need an allotment, someone's garden, or apply through landshare to find somewhere.
Join a good gardening forum....this is quite a good one http://www.growfruitandveg.co.uk/grapevine/
Research research research....but nothing beats getting stuck in and growing on a small scale before you start on a big one.0
